Replacing the long-running and successful Cirque de la Mer, this show also stars Peruvian silent comic Cesar Aedo as an innocent spectator who's whisked into a mystical underwater world where he witnesses the performances of sea creatures. With this story line, the show can now present the type of circus acts you've probably seen several times before: a contortionist in a clamshell who can balance herself on one hand, gymnasts in a "kelp bed" twirling around on ropes, and trampoline artists dressed as penguins. Kind of odd. What you likely haven't seen is the giant, accordionlike, tubular worm that, well, you just have to see it. All in all, Odyssea is fun and free entertainment.
