$-$$$, American, Universal Orlando
Fodor's Review:
At the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and 8th Avenue -- which turns into Sunset Boulevard along the bottom shore of the lagoon -- is a flashy '50s eatery with a menu and decorative muscle cars straight out of American Graffiti. For burgers and fries, this is one of the best choices in the park, and it comes complete with a roving doo-wop group. You're on vacation -- go ahead and have that extra-thick shake. Mel's is also a great place to meet, in case you decide to go your separate ways in the park.
