Marvel Super Hero Island

Fodor's Review:
This island may return you to the halcyon days of yesteryear, when perhaps you were able to name every hero and villain in a Marvel comic book. The facades along Stanley Boulevard (named for Marvel's famed editor and cocreator Stan Lee) put you smack in the middle of these adventures, with cartoony colors and flourishes. Although the spiky, horrific tower of Doctor Doom's Fearfall makes it a focal point for the park, the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is the one to see. At various times Doctor Doom, Spider-Man, and the Incredible Hulk are available for photos, and sidewalk artists are on hand to paint your face like your favorite hero (or villain). Also dominating the scenery is the Hulk's own vivid-green coaster. Along with a hard-driving rock sound track, the screams emanating from Doctor Doom's and from the Hulk Coaster set the mood for this sometimes pleasant, sometimes apocalyptic world.
