The Studios' after-dark show wows audiences of thousands with its 25 minutes of special effects and Disney characters. The omnipresent Mickey, in his Sorcerer's Apprentice costume, plays the embodiment of Good in the struggle against forces of Evil, personified by Disney villains and villainesses such as Cruella DeVil, Scar, and Maleficent. In some of the show's best moments, animated clips of images of these famous bad guys alternate with clips of Disney nice guys (and dolls), projected onto screens made of water -- high-tech fountains surging high in the air. Disney being Disney, it's Good that emerges triumphant, amid a veritable tidal wave of water effects and flames, explosions, and fireworks worthy of a Hollywood shoot-'em-up. Show up early at the 6,500-seat Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre opposite the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. If you sit near the lagoon, spray from the fountains may chill you on cool nights.
