Pleasure Island was Disney's first foray into a nighttime complex, and judging by the crowds, the combination of clubs, stores, and entertainment remains an attractive mix. The 6-acre park has seven jam-packed clubs that attract an across-the-board mix of college kids, young married couples, middle-age business folk, world travelers, and moms and pops sneaking out for an evening. Weekends are the busiest, although Thursday hops with Disney World cast members itching to blow their just-issued paychecks. Several changes kicked in during 2007. Kids, who were once welcome here under the supervision of a parent, are no longer given such access to the entire complex, except to the Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club. Only visitors 21 or older may enter the various nightclubs. Another change: there is no admission to Pleasure Island itself; only a substantial admission for a single club, double that fee for an all-clubs pass.
