Museum of Science & History Review

MOSH, once known in Jacksonville as "the children's museum," is for all ages these days, especially with the installation of the Konica Minolta Super MediaGlobe II. Translation? It's the next generation of planetarium, one that can project shows of all kinds on the dome—from blockbuster movies to live NASA feeds to the 3-D laser shows that accompany the ever-popular, weekend Cosmic Concerts. The resolution here is four times sharper than that of the most hi-def TV currently on the market, so whether you're a kid "flying" on a snowflake or an adult falling into darkness during Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity, the experience is awesome.

MOSH also has a wide variety of interactive exhibits like the JEA Science Theatre, where you can participate in live experiments related to electricity and electrical safety; the Florida Naturalist's Center, where you can explore northeast Florida wildlife; and the Universe of Science, where you'll learn about properties of physical science through hands-on demonstrations.
