Omni Jacksonville Hotel

Fodor's Review:

The Omni has further cemented its reputation as Jacksonville's most luxurious and glamorous hotel with a recent multimillion-dollar makeover. Upgrades include "downtown urban style" guest rooms (think neutral grays and creams, dark wood, stainless steel, and flat-screen TVs), which they claim are the largest in the city, and an expanded fitness center. The splashy marble-floor lobby leads to the reception area, an upscale lounge—J Bar—and Juliette's Bistro, with cozy banquettes and tables that look up to a soaring atrium. Bell service is also exemplary: with many porters having 10-plus years on the job, they can, and will happily, help you find just about anything. Pros: downtown location; large rooms; rooftop pool. Cons: congested valet area; pricey on-site restaurant; chaotic when there's a show at the Times-Union Center across the street.
