Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum & Tico Airshow

Fodor's Review:

Although its exterior looks sort of squirrelly, what's inside here is certainly impressive. Aviation buffs won't want to miss memorabilia from World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam, as well as extensive displays of vintage military flying gear and uniforms. There are posters that were used to identify Japanese planes, plus there's a Huey helicopter and the cockpit of an F-106 that you can sit in. In the north hangar it looks like activity day at the senior center as a volunteer team of retirees busily restores old planes. It's an inspiring sight, and a good place to hear some war stories. In the lobby gift shop they sell real flight suits, old flight magazines, bomber jackets, books, and T-shirts.

  • Cost: $12
  • Open: Daily 9-5
