Fodor's Review:

Standing in line to place their orders, first-time diners may think this Jacksonville-based chain is just another fast-food joint. But one look at the menu, chock-full of designer salads, specialty pizzas, and upscale sandwiches, not to mention the stylish dining room complete with upholstered booths, funky light fixtures, and tiled floors, and they'll think they're in McDreamland. The big sellers here are the burgers (the Loop 'N Cheddar and Loop 'N Blue, in particular) and pizzas (both California-thin and Chicago-thick), but sandwiches like the portobello mushroom and Cajun chicken merit special mention. The salads can be a bit blah, but the onion rings and milk shakes are among the best in town.

I cannot believe anyone thinks the Loop pizza is good. I am from Chicago & it is a disgrace to have any connection of the franchise to the REAL LOOP Pizza in Chicago. I have tried this pizza over 5 times & each time hve been very disappointed. The Loop cannot make a good pizza, maybe for kids because they will eat any kind of pizza. First off, they cannot make it crisp. I have been there & sent the pizza back on 2 separate occassions & they have a pizza oven & still cannot make their pizza crisp. Give it up. Your soups & sandwichs including the burgers are good (like how hard is that to make decent tasting)but forget the pizza. The flavor is not there, it's soggy, not enough cheese, etc. It is just not worthy of having any connection with Chicago loop pizza. If anyone likes this pizza, you have no clue as to what a real pizza tastes like & obviously do not care about it. Unfortunately the pizza here will never change because there are so many people who do not know what GOOD FOOD is supposed to taste like as evidenced by continuing to order same from this establishment.

I have probably eaten more times at the Loop than I have anywhere else in Florida (I'm a former local). It's is so totally dependable. There's always something good there for everyone. I'm getting misty eyed thinking about the thick, gooey pizzas I haven't had since I've been away.
