St. Augustine
Visitor Information
Centrally located between the south and north ends of St. Augustine's Historic District, the St. Augustine & St. Johns County Visitor Information Center is a smart place to start your day. You can park in the multistoried garage here ($1.25 per hour, $7.50 per day), as well as pick up maps, get information on and advice about attractions and restaurants, and hop aboard the sightseeing trolley. Be sure to notice the large coquina ball outside. Built in 1929, it was placed here to note the 0 mile marker (i.e., the starting point) for the 3,000-mile Old Spanish Trail, which was established by missionaries and stretched all the way to San Diego.
