Riverdale Inn Review

In the early 1900s, Jacksonville's wealthiest residents built mansions along Riverside Avenue—dubbed the Row—and the three-story Riverdale Inn is only one of two such homes remaining. Previous owners took great care in preserving original details, including heart-of-pine floors, crown moldings, and the shingle façade. Despite its age—more than a hundred years old—the mansion feels pristine and squeaky-clean inside and out. Guest rooms, some with fireplaces, are individually decorated to evoke the turn of the last century. Some rooms have claw-foot tubs and shower combinations; others have only showers. The inn is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and Five Points. Or, for a drink, just stumble downstairs to the Gum Bunch Pub.
