The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island Review

Guests know what to expect from the Ritz—elegance, superb comfort, excellent service—and the Amelia Island location is no exception. All accommodations in the eight-story building have balconies and ocean or coastal views; suites and rooms are spacious and luxurious, with beds so comfortable, you'll need a drag-out call instead of a wake-up one. Public areas are exquisitely maintained, and there are plenty of good restaurants, including the upscale Salt. Room service is available 24/7, and the Club Level provides a personal concierge.

    more like hyatt

    this property is more like a hyatt. doesn't quite deliver like the ritz should. we waited over an hour for our, but was upgraded to an ocean front. room nothing special. nice size, flat screen, coffee maker. we went off season so got a good rate. would not pay over $300 for this property. not that impressed with the island.

    Bang for your buck

    Our family went to this Ritz last August (off-season). Got a great deal (under $250) for a great coastal view room. Service was excellent: bathroom had some water problems and we were automatically upgraded to oceanfront(next level up). Food impeccable. Left our kids at the Ritz Kids CLub one night and the kids had a ball. The location is isolated, providing tranquility, but is only a 20-30 minute drive from airport. I understand they just completed their renovation. Will definitely return soon
