Century Hotel Review

If this is your second time staying in South Beach, consider this cheap but tidy hotel at the southern end of the island. It's a dozen blocks south of the big scene but offers the same amazing (though quieter) beach, and it gives you a chance to discover some of the city's best restaurants, which happen to be steps away: Big Pink, Joe's, Prime One Twelve, and Nemo's. Designed in 1939 by art deco master Henry Hohauser, the Century is a cute two-story art deco masterpiece, impeccably maintained down to the terrazzo floors. Rooms are wonderful values for their wood floors, and clean, new furniture. A rarity anywhere in Miami: this is a pet-friendly hotel. Off-season weekend rooms are $199; weekday rooms off-season are $89. The owner, West Tucker, works at the front desk.
