Except for room size and exterior architecture, the Hotel Ocean looks like a classic European two-star hotel transplanted from the beaches outside Rome. Rooms are old-fashioned, with slightly cheesy patterned fabrics, spindly wood furniture, wood-framed prints and mirrors, and long, round neck pillows. Soundproof windows ensure that rooms (which average 425 square feet each) are comfortable and quiet. In the courtyard between the hotel's two buildings is Osteria Romana, an Italian restaurant with red gingham tables and forward waiters who will try to get you to sit down for a meal. Pros: Complimentary beach chairs and towels, plus a Continental breakfast. Con: Loud, busy restaurant in front.
