Tobacco Road

Tobacco Road Review

If you like your food (or your drink) the way you like your blues—gritty, honest, and unassuming—then this almost-100-year-old joint will earn your respect. This is Miami's oldest bar and restaurant, and it manages to stay up the latest, too: 5 am. A live band plays daily, making this hangout one of Miami's low-key gems. The road burger is a popular choice, as are appetizers like nachos and chicken wings; the chili may induce a call for a fire hose. Fine single-malt scotches are stocked behind the bar.

Well, if you're looking for top notch food you might not get it here, but it is still pretty good, just not 5 stars. What people go there for is the music and fortunately Tobacco Road is the place to go for music in Miami and, for that matter, all of South Florida. Nice to get a burger before you enjoy your drinks with some good local bands...
