Fodor's Review

This seven-story, oft-photographed 1937 archetypal art deco building on Ocean Drive offers a wide range of somewhat dated, Old Florida–style rooms complete with wicker chairs and black-and-white photos of old beach scenes. The Henry Hohauser hotel has some of the beach's best preserved geometrically-patterend terrazzo floors. The so-called "Blue Jewel" also boasts a sculpture garden and a compact pool, the setting of much parading about in swimsuits. There's a roof deck

for sunning, where people also gather to watch movies on Thursday night (with free popcorn and soda) and for yoga on Saturday.

Charming hotel across from beach

Good value hotel on Ocean Drive, right across from the beach. Not as glamorous as some, but comfortable and right in the middle of the action. The restaurants associated with the hotel are very good. There is also a nice pool area, a rarity on South Beach. Plenty of sightseeing wihin walking distance.

Park it at The Park Central

I've stayed here many times over the past 5 years, both on business (I'm the only one with a suit on in the morning!) and pleasure with my wife and friends. The place is quiet but close to the clubs, the lobby bar is a perfect low-key setting for drinks, the staff is excellent and efficient. This ain't the Delano, but it's perfect for me!

Quaint Deco Era Hotel, "Central" to the Action!

A stay at the Park Central is truly a step back in time to the 30s heyday of Miami Beach, way before the SoBe craze. The public areas are charming and well- restored, the rooms are comfortable if a bit small and basic, and the staff are extremely helpful. Best of all, you're across the street from the beach, and the madness of South Beach is just north of the front door. AND, the price is right!

A Total Convert to Park Central

My husband and I have stayed here both in 2000 and 2001. We already have our plans for 2002. It's a perfect hotel, on the "quieter" end of Ocean Drive, across the street from the ocean, and a short walk to breakfast at the News Cafe. This February, we brought our fathers and I know that they plan on returning with us. The small pool is perfect for cooling off and staff is so sweet.
