Travelodge Monaco Beach Resort Review

The last of a dying breed, the Travelodge Monaco is a no-frills step up from a youth hostel. Peek inside the courtyard and you'll see older men and women playing shuffleboard. Some have been coming here for 50 years, and it seems almost out of charity that the Monaco stays open for them today. In high season, rooms peak at only $130, and are nearly half that much of the year. Want a kitchen? Ten dollars more. Naturally the furnishings are simple, but they're clean, and the oceanfront wing literally extends out onto the sand.

    Hotel Amenities

  • 110 rooms.
  • Restaurant, bar, pool, beach, parking.
  • Rooms have: a/c, kitchen (some).
  • Rate includes no meals.

This place is a dump! We spent 4 nights there in April, 2009, and it was an absolutely depressing experience. I really don't believe that it deserves he "Fodor's Choice" designation.
