The 18-story glass tower looks modern but conceals a solid, if old-fashioned, luxury resort. The tower itself isn't attractive, but the pool is trim, and the inlaid marble tile and crystal chandeliers in the lobby make a nice impression. A lower gallery of shops leads to the pool deck, which is set beside the spa, salon, and gym. Bright rooms have a tropical blue color scheme, big closets, and three layers of drapes, including blackout curtains. This is luxury from a decade ago. Pro: Quiet beachfront. Cons: Ugly exterior and unexciting pool.
