Fodor's Review:
Covering a tapestry of islands and waterways on 300 superbly landscaped acres by the bay, the Fairmont Turnberry Isle is a state-of-the-art golf, tennis, and spa resort for people who want to completely get away. It was designed by Addison Mizner on the Intracoastal Waterway in the 1920s and has been completely renovated multiple times since then, most recently to the tune of $100 million in 2007. Oversize rooms are decorated in light woods and earth tones and have large curving terraces and hot tubs. The marina has moorings for 117 boats, and there are two Robert Trent Jones golf courses and a free shuttle to the Aventura Mall. Perks for all ages include a private Ocean Club at Collins Avenue and 17th Street, a quick shuttle ride away. Pro: Lots of activity. Con: No beach nightlife.
