Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University

Fodor's Review:

Being affiliated with the Smithsonian means the FIU museum has access to that institution's huge collection of art and artifacts and is a major cultural institution. Known especially for its Latin American and 20th-century American art, it's also home to ArtPark at FIU, an outdoor sculpture park with works from the Martin Z. Margulies sculpture collection, including pieces by Alexander Calder and Isamu Noguchi. Permanent collections include paintings by such major 20th-century figures as Hans Hofmann, Rufino Tamayo, and Cundo Bermúdez; an extensive collection of American prints from the 1960s, including works by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein; pieces by Haitian fine artists; and Haitian and Brazilian folk art.

  • Cost: Free
  • Open: Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri. 10-5, Wed. 10-9, Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4
