This Miami phenomenon stubbornly refuses reservations despite phenomenal crowds. Prepare to wait up to an hour just to sign up for a table and another three hours to get one. The centerpiece of the ample à la carte menu is, of course, stone crab, with a piquant mustard sauce. Popular side orders include creamed garlic spinach, french-fried onions, fried green tomatoes, and hash browns. Desserts range from a famous key lime pie to apple pie with crumb-pecan topping. If you can't stand loitering hungrily while self-important patrons try to grease the maître d's palm, come for lunch, or get takeout and picnic on the beach.

A few years back I was at Joe's in Chicago and had a wonderful meal but it just didn't compare to the great experience I had at the Miami location.
My kids were with me during this vacation in Miami and my son does not eat seafood so I was weary about bring him there. It was a while ago we ate in Chicago and I probably didn't notice the meat on the menu. My son had the best meal ever. He was the first to say he had the best new york steak and chocolate cake, better then our lousy Smith and Wolinsky experience this last time and although we had a great meal in California at the Palm , Joe's (pardon the pun) really took the cake.
We are going to Las Vegas in Aug. and I can't wait to try Joe's there.
