Beyond Key Biscayne's commercial district, at the southern tip of the island, is a natural oasis with an excellent swimming beach that is frequently ranked among the top 10 in North America by the University of Maryland's esteemed sandman, Dr. Beach. Sea grass-studded dunes, blue-green waters, and plenty of native plants and trees add to the tranquil setting. The 410-acre park has a restored lighthouse, 18 picnic shelters, and a casual seafood restaurant, which also serves beer and wine. A stroll or bike ride along paths and boardwalks provides wonderful views of the bay and Miami's skyline. You can rent bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas, and there are fishing platforms and a playground.
