"It's getting happy in here" is one of Emeril Lagasse's stock phrases, and now he has brought his brand of happy to Miami Beach. You can expect a different gumbo each day and other New Orleans specialties at Lagasse's chain, which appears to have the winning formula down. The seafood naturally shines in these parts (an andouille-crusted redfish signals the imported Lagasse touch), and the chef has his own take on mango pie and banana-cream pie. As a bonus, the restaurant delivers without even a hint of South Beach attitude—though a view of the pool at its Loews hotel location is a perk.

I highly recommend this restaurant - we have had several wonderful meals there over the last few years. The food is always superb (if you enjoy high end Southern/Cajun cuisine), the setting is beautiful (neo-art deco with some ocean and pool views), and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient (a rarity indeed). Emeril's also features a decent (albeit expensive) wine list, and a cozy bar.
