Nature Preserves, Sanibel and Captiva Islands

Fodor's Review:

For a good look at snowy egrets, great blue herons, alligators, and other inhabitants of Florida's wetlands, follow the 4 1/2 mi of walking trails at the 1,800-acre wetlands managed by the. See island research projects and nature displays, visit a butterfly house, and touch sea creatures. Guided walks are available on and off property; the beach walk is especially enjoyable and easily educational.
