The salsa and chips alone are worth a visit to this bright and lively little spot, with slabs of clay tile for placemats. The signature dish, smoked Gouda-stuffed tamales, sets an example for freshness, authenticity, and a flair of creativity. Imaginative touches are also added to other Tex-Mex standards, including enchiladas, fajitas, rellenos, and a Mexican rice bowl.

I ate dinner with my wife, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. I had the house special the vegetarian tamales which were superb. My wife had the Chilie Rellenos which was Ok; she was thinking about going with the burrito which probably would have been a better choice. This dish is usually one of my favorites but had way too much batter. My brother in-law had the chicken wings which were in an interesting by very tasty mild barbecue sauce and a very large portion size. The free chips and salsa were good and the tomato chucks served with it were food and an unusual twist. Our service was pretty good.
