Fodor's Review:
On Las Olas Boulevard, just steps from boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries, Fort Lauderdale's oldest hotel was built in 1936, and within the past decade added luster with a $25 million renovation and expansion. Penthouse suites in the newer 12-story executive tower have balconies with sweeping views of Las Olas, New River, and downtown's skyline. Historic photos grace hallways, and rooms are outfitted with antique oak furnishings and framed French prints. Enjoy afternoon tea in the newly spruced-up lobby, and dine at Indigo, where American favorites include steaks and seafood; the elegant Grill Room; or the new Brio Mediterranean Wine Bar & Restaurant. The hotel's new Wine Room for private dining has a 1,500-bottle cellar.
