Harrison Street Art and Design District

Fodor's Review:

Harrison Street Art and Design District in downtown Hollywood has galleries that carry original artwork (eclectic paintings, sculpture, photography, and mixed media), Costa Rican collectibles, and African artifacts. Friday night the artists' studios, galleries, and shops stay open later while crowds meander along Hollywood Boulevard and Harrison Street. Indaba (2029 Harrison St. 954/920-2029) celebrates African art with an extensive collection of masks, statues, cloth, and baskets. Mosaica (2020 Hollywood Blvd. 954/923-7006) is a design studio with handcrafted, one-of-a-kind mosaic tile tables, mirrors, and art. The colorful home furnishings gallery Alliage (2035 Harrison St. 954/922-7017) has tables, wall consoles, and sculptures handcrafted from brushed aluminum and sand-blasted glass.
