Fodor's Review

At the Billie Swamp Safari, experience life in the Everglades firsthand albeit in a somewhat touristy setting. Daily tours of wildlife-filled wetlands and hammocks yield sightings of deer, water buffalo, raccoons, wild hogs, hawks, eagles, and alligators. Animal and reptile shows entertain audiences. Sixty-minute ecotours are conducted aboard motorized swamp buggies, and 20-minute airboat rides are available, too. The on-site Swamp Water Café serves gator nuggets, frogs' legs, catfish, and Indian fry bread with honey.

Ruined our mother's day

Among many options of Mother's Day promotions, we chose to go on an airboat ride here. They were advertising "a FREE airboat ride when one airboat ride is purchased" - see attached photo. I purchased a ticket through their website that included me and my daughter and drove about an hour on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we showed the receptionist (Natasha Stinson) our online ticket receipt and told her we were there for the Mother's Day

promotion. Very rudely, she said that we would need to purchase another ticket if we wanted my wife to ride the airport. She refused to honor the promotion they were advertising on I told her that we would be happy to pay for another ticket if she can show me where in their advertising said that we need to purchase more than one ticket... I showed her their advertisement and where it clearly stated that mothers rode for free with the purchase of ONE ticket. She started yelling (in front of my 4 year old daughter) at me and telling me that there is nothing she could do since she had no way to print a free ticket for my wife . I asked her to contact a manager. After several attempts on her part, she said that she couldn't get a hold of anybody. My daughter was very sad she couldn't go on the ride... she had been looking forward to it. I asked for a refund, and they said that I had to contact the third party they use to handle ticket sales. She didn't even offer to give me the information as to how I could contact them. I contacted them after getting home and had to fight to get my refund. The ticket company said they do not do refunds for online orders. I ended up getting her to process the refund, but the whole experience was a nasty ordeal from beginning to end. i would not recommend this place if you want to avoid headaches or poor service. There are a ton other airboat tour companies near the area that run a more customer friendly business.
