In its heyday (and hey, that's many a year ago), stars like Elizabeth Taylor checked in here to let their hair down. Now a time-share, this resort has studios and one-, two-, and four-bedroom apartments that are individually owned but share similar decor. Some units have whirlpool tubs and washers and dryers; kitchens range from partial to full. Housekeeping is provided weekly, and more frequently for a charge. The spa and fitness complex has a sauna, a steam room, and fitness equipment. Five championship golf courses at the Palm-Aire Country Club are just a chip shot away. The Palms Café serves lunch and dinner, and drinks are on tap at the Tiki Hut. Pros: roll out of bed onto the golf course; home-away-from-home feel. Cons: a bit past its prime.

Have stayed twice in the last two years and it is great. Rooms were excellent, grounds were very well kept, golf courses were in good shape
