Sailboat Bend

Sailboat Bend Review

Between Las Olas and the river lies a neighborhood with a character reminiscent of Key West's Old Town and Miami's Coconut Grove. Although without shops or much in the way of services, it's still worth a visit to be reminded of bygone days. The circa-1927 Fire Station No. 3, designed by local architect Francis Abreu and now housing the Fort Lauderdale Fire Museum, is at the corner of West Las Olas Boulevard and Southwest 11th Avenue. Across the river lies the tree-lined Tarpon River neighborhood, alluding to the canal-like river looping off New River from the southeast quadrant and running to the southwest section, returning to New River near Sailboat Bend.
