The Smithsonian museums regularly host an incredible spectrum of special events, from evenings of jazz to dance nights to food and wine tastings, films, lectures, and events for families and kids. Popular events include live jazz on Friday evening in summer from 5 to 8:30 at the National Gallery of Art sculpture garden and Take Five performances every third Thursday from 5 to 7 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The United States Holocaust Museum regularly hosts survivors who share their harrowing tales. Native Americans welcome visitors to prepare, teach, and offer samples of recipes from their region at the American Indian Museum.
