Washington's Greyhound bus terminal, a major one for the company, is approximately four blocks north of Union Station. Taxis are always waiting at the terminal, so it's easy to get to other parts of the city. You can purchase your ticket by phone, on the Internet, or at the station before you board the bus. Greyhound accepts cash and all major credit cards. Peter Pan Bus Lines, which serve Northeast cities, also use the Greyhound terminal for Washington arrivals.
Affectionately known as the Chinatown Express, several bus lines run between Chinatown in New York City and Chinatown in Washington, D.C. The most reliable is called Today's Bus. The buses are clean, the service is satisfactory, and the price—$20 one-way and $35 round-trip—can't be beat.
