For decades, the perfect way to end a night out in Washington was a trip up to the Sky Tavern on the Hotel Washington's 11th-floor rooftop. The W hotel has replaced the Hotel Washington, and the Sky Tavern has been reincarnated as P.O.V. ("Point of View"), a trendy indoor lounge and outdoor terrace offering a tremendous view over D.C.'s low skyline. Enjoy the unique view of the Washington Monument and the White House while enjoying a pan-Mediterranean menu of cocktails, appetizers, and small plates. While the view here is no secret, meaning waits are common, P.O.V. does take reservations. Popping by in the late afternoon may be a more relaxed option. After 5 pm, the venue only allows 21 and older.
