Sakuramen Review

After the small plates, artisan burgers, and cupcake fads, gourmet versions of Japanese ramen soup stormed the city in 2012. There are buzzier and swankier places to get your noodle on in the city, but this keep-it-simple spot gets the formula and price point right. Loaded with fresh vegetables, like corn in the meaty Sakuramen or bamboo shoots in the Spicy Miso, the offerings here are hearty and memorable fuel for a night on the town or a long winter's walk. Juicy marinated bulgogi beef buns and crispy fried dumplings marry well with spicy kimchi for the soup-averse or the extra-hungry.
