Washington, D.C. Restaurants

Bayou Review

New Orleans and Washington, D.C., might seem to have little in common, but both cities share a common love of carousing after hours and belt-stretching cuisine. The urban marriage is consummated beautifully at this two-level po'boy palace, where live bands frequently turn the top floor into a mini-Bourbon Street. Down below, though, the food rules—such as a pork chop done right by its Andouille sausage—Brussels sprouts hash and a fried green tomato appetizer hearty enough to join the entrée menu. Daily specials, such as Wednesday gator night, round out the down-home picture.
