Washington, D.C. Nightlife

P.O.V. Review

For decades, the perfect way to end a night out in Washington was a trip up to the Sky Tavern on the Hotel Washington's 11th-floor rooftop. The W hotel has replaced the Hotel Washington, and the Sky Tavern has been reincarnated as P.O.V. ("Point of View"), a trendy indoor lounge and outdoor terrace offering a tremendous view over D.C.'s low skyline; you can gaze at the monuments and the Capitol while enjoying a cocktail or a bite from Jean-Georges Vongerichten's menu. Alas, the view here is no secret, so expect a long wait. Popping by during the day is a more relaxed option. Children are not always welcome at this posh lookout. P.O.V. stays open very late for D.C.: until 2:30 am on weekends.
