Washington, D.C. Nightlife

P.O.V Review

For decades, the perfect way to end a night out in Washington was a trip to the Sky Tavern on the Hotel Washington's 11th floor rooftop. When the W Washington, D.C. hotel replaced the Hotel Washington in 2009, the Sky Tavern was reincarnated as P.O.V. ("Point of View"). The trendy indoor lounge and outdoor terrace offer a tremendous view over D.C.'s low skyline; you can gaze at the monuments and the Capitol while enjoying a seasonal cocktail or a bite from Jean-Georges Vongerichten's menu. Unfortunately, the view here is no secret, so expect a long wait to get in. Children are not always welcome at this posh lookout. P.O.V. stays open very late for D.C.: until 2:30 am on weekends.
