Sweetgreen Review
When three Georgetown University graduates carved out a closet-sized niche to sell freshly made salads and tart frozen yogurt, no one in the city batted an eyelash. Since that time, their empire has opened locations in Maryland and Virginia while expanding into healthful, tasty "market sides" that use all local ingredients, such as spicy kale and balsamic roasted sweet potatoes. The guacamole salad, which brilliantly deposits every flavor of the Mexican dip onto mixed greens, remains a classic. But everything else about this franchise is breaking new ground.
