Fodor's Review

The nearest restaurant to the Senate side of the Capitol, Monocle's drawing card is its old-style Capitol Hill atmosphere. The regional American cuisine is reliable though rarely adventurous. The blue crab cakes, either as a platter or in a sandwich during lunch, are a trademark, and you might encounter specials such as pot roast or a first-rate fish dish. This remains a great place to spot older members of Congress, though the younger lawmakers tend to flock elsewhere.
