Skeptics were everywhere when local superchef Jamie Leeds, the creator of Hank's Oyster Bar, said her next project would be mastering the art of British pub food. But she has made the city a believer in cuisine never known for its taste, remixing head-scratching dishes such as bangers and mash (pork sausage with mashed potatoes and gravy) and Scotch eggs (hard-boiled eggs given a coating of ground beef then deep-fried) into savory delights.
