The watchword is simplicity at this popular and chic take on the shellfish shacks of New England. A half-dozen oyster varieties are available daily on the half shell, both from the West Coast and local Virginia waters, alongside another half-dozen daily fish specials, from bouillabaisse to tuna tartare. An amuse-bouche of cheddar Goldfish crackers adds a touch of whimsy. Don't be shy about asking for seconds on the complimentary baking chocolate presented along with your check—the kitchen doesn't serve sweets, but it doesn't need to.

    Has to be one of the best restaurant meals I have ever had! Just go there and try it yourself- not one complaint- great service, thanks Joanie! Would love to live closer just to go there again!

    Hank's Oyster Bar Review

    This was a restaurant that we had to visit because my son's name is Hank and the menu sounded great. We had a great meal. We had oysters, lobster roll, scallops, popcorn shrimp/calamari and mac & cheese. The popcorn shrimp were full size and awesome as was the rest of the meal. We took a cab from Dupont Circle but walked back and it was a great walk. If we would have been more familiar with the area, we would have walked there also. The service on the other hand was not good, I think we had 3 different servers, our main server left without saying anything. We had to wait for drinks and worst of all, they didn't have any t-shirts to buy! We'd go again though.
