Washington, D.C. Nightlife

Eighteenth Street Lounge

Eighteenth Street Lounge Review

Home to Washington's chic set, ESL's unmarked visage might be intimidating, but this multilevel club's array of lux sofa-filled hardwood coves makes it seem like the city's chilliest house party. On the top floor of this former mansion, jazz musicians often entertain. The back deck, complete with hanging chandeliers, provides summer visitors with two extra bars and a dance floor. Fans of techno music flock here because it's the home of the ESL record label and the renowned musical duo Thievery Corporation. The dress code here is strictly enforced by the doorman: no khakis, baseball caps, sneakers, or light-colored jeans.
