The architecture, parquet floors, crystal chandeliers, decorative fireplaces, and furnishings of Morrison House are so faithful to the Federal period (1790-1820) that it's often mistaken for a renovation rather than a structure built from scratch in 1985. The elegant hotel blends Early American charm with modern conveniences. Rooms are individually furnished, and some offer decorative fireplaces and four-poster beds. The popular Elysium Restaurant serves American contemporary cuisine. The hotel sits in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, eight blocks from the train and metro stations.
