Fodor's Review

If you prefer to be near the Hill but not in a convention hotel, the small but cozy guest rooms in this European-style inn across the street from Union Station may fit the bill. The Dubliner Restaurant and Pub provides in-room dining, and Irish entertainers perform nightly. The place is showing its age, but the service is friendly.

Stay away!

What a nightmare weekend. They have Motel 6 thin walls and we heard the squealing teenage girls both nights of our stay. Front desk was not helpful. I caught a cold from the A/C system. Not a good value for the money.

Great location

This is my children's favorite hotel in Washington. We love the Pub's menu and the location is great.

Don't Stay Here

What a bunch of crooks. You'd think that they'd be nicer since they're stealing your money, but no they have to be rude too. We booked a room two months in advance and received confirmation from them. However, when we arrived we were denied a room with two double beds as promised. The bed that was in there was so lop-sided and uncomfortable it was almost imposible to sleep in. My daughter had to sleep on a rollaway. The room was already small and

cramped, adding the rollaway made it almost impossible to move. POOR ventilation (if you have asthma don't stay here). Didn't give us our wake up call and were rude when I called up to complain. Bums prowl the front entrance waiting to asking you for money. Do yourself a favor DON'T EVER, EVER stay here.

What a dump!

Just got back from a DC wedding. The reception was held at the Phoenix Park and all of us out of town guests were given a block of rooms in which to stay. It was truly awful. Despite our nonsmoking request, we were given a smoking room. Not a huge deal if the room had been even remotely decent. Bed mattress was lopsided and headboard was propped against the wall. Bathroom had a pedestal sink with nowhere to place a toiletry bag, and a shower

stall with mildew on the bottom. A single chair and a beat-up wooden desk were the only other pieces of furniture in the room. After one unsucessful attempt to change rooms by calling front desk, we noticed an somewhat nicer empty room on the same floor being cleaned. Did manage to change to that room after speaking with front desk in person. Not much better than the first room, but at least it had a tub and shower and space to put a toiletry bag. Saw a variety of rooms (including suites) while visiting with other wedding guests. None impressed. Only good thing about the hotel was the great Irish pub downstairs.

This was a nice treat!

After getting out of the scary area outside the hospital area, my friends said how are we going to find a decent place to stay with no reservations? As we drove towards the museums, I pointed, how's that hotel on the corner? They started laughing and said, there's no way we can afford that place? Nevertheless, I proved them wrong. The service was great, front desk helped us get a great deal without a reservation, the room was cozy and for the

price? This place way only $20 more than the so-called inn outside the hospital area. Now that's a wonderful treat!
