DC Coast
DC Coast Review
Chef Jeff Tunks's menu at this sophisticated Downtown spot brings the foods of three coasts—Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific—to Washington. Come for lunch to try his savory version of crab cakes; if you call ahead of time, you can order them for dinner. If you're homesick for New Orleans, try the gumbo (served only at lunch). For Pacific Rim cooking, you can't beat the Chinese-style smoked lobster. And for one of the liveliest bar scenes in the downtown area, stop by as early as 2:30 pm on weekdays to watch the well-heeled lobbyist crowd roll in.
