Fodor's Review

Wrought-iron gates lead into a pleasant courtyard, setting the tone of this intimate, quiet getaway where the traditionally styled guest rooms are a few blocks from the Kennedy Center, the State Department, and the George Washington University and Hospital. Furnishings and amenities are basic, but complimentary high-speed Internet access is available and some units have kitchenettes.

no a/c poor service

we called before we booked to make sure that they had a/c and were told they did. when we checked in we were told that it hadn't been turned on yet, this was the first week of April. the first day our room wasn't serviced until 4pm AFTER a tiring day walking around Washington. they need to get their act together

We have stayed here numerous times while visiting our son, a student at G.W. The G.W.U. Inn never disappoints! No matter what room we get, we're always greeted by spacious accommodations with first-class service. The only downside is the wait to retrieve your parked car.

Without a doubt THE best place to stay in D.C.

Though it's a bit off the main drag, this quiet, beautiful building is our favorite place to bunk while visiting D.C. Extremely spacious (but cozy), well-appointed rooms (especially the suites!). Excellent service that always goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Room service breakfast is a great way to start the day--and you won't feel cramped in your room while enjoying it! We stayed here before the new restaurant was open, but we'll certainly

be back to test it out!
