Fodor's Review

All accommodations at this pleasant and convenient hotel within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle have a living room and bedroom and surround an atrium filled with classical columns, plaster lions, wrought-iron lanterns, waterfalls, and tall palms. Beverages are complimentary at the nightly manager's reception, and the rate includes cooked-to-order breakfast. There's a kids' corner with movies and games, and a game room off the pool area.

Kids, Kids Everywhere!

This hotel is well situated, efficient and an excellent value. As other comments indicate, this is a major kid friendly destination, so be ready for hordes of kids coming from the swimming pool, massing for the elevator, and zooming down the halls with not a parent in sight. If you are in the mood for that, this is the place.

Embassy in Crystal City

Embassy's can't be beat for travelling with children. Getting the day started off with a good breakfast was very nice, with no waiting or hassle getting there. My kids enjoyed the happy hour with their cokes and popcorn break. Crystal City wasn't too inconvenient. We took the metro several times which was just a block away but took cabs everywhere else...about $10 a trip to downtown for four. Staff was very helpful. As with most DC hotels, you hear

some highway traffic at night so request a room on the other side of the hotel from the interstate.

highly recommended

The staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. The pool is small, but that is my only complaint for a family.

Embassy Suites Is an Excellent Ambassador

Travelling with a family, you can't go wrong here. Our suite (a corner) was huge, with my only complaint being that there was little bureau space. The beds were firm, and everything was clean and well cared for. The atrium area is nice for breakfast or an afternoon cocktail and, while I didn't eat in the on-site Italian restaurant, I did have some late night cocktails there with no complaints. The concierge, Tony, was top notch and extremely helpful

in picking out local restaurants. Also, the pool is a big plus when travelling with the kids. All in all, you can't beat it -- highly recommended.
