Fodor's Review:

The unique Hotel Madera sits in a quiet part of town southwest of Dupont Circle. Innovative guest rooms with art nouveau styling have CD players, complimentary high-speed or wireless Internet access, and minibars. Extra-spacious "specialty rooms" are decorated in rich earthy tones with finer furnishings, although the bathrooms remain small. The adjoining American bistro, Firefly, has a massive fake oak tree in the center of its dining room. The tree is hung with candles that resemble flickering fireflies.
