The large glassed-in lobby and about a third of the bright, spacious rooms overlook the Fairmont's central courtyard and gardens. Rooms are comfortable, if not the city's most modern. The informal Juniper restaurant serves mid-Atlantic fare and has courtyard dining; there's a champagne brunch on Sunday in the Colonnade Room. The health club is one of the best in the city. Families have access to the pool, kids' menus and crayons in the restaurant, and a babysitting referral service. The Fairmont also offers family packages, such as the "Panda Package," a trip to visit the pandas at the National Zoo.

The Fairmont in DC is one of my favorite hotels in the world. My wife and I have stayed there since it was originally the ANA Hotel. The Fairmont boasts one of the nicest lobbies you will ever see; great for chatting and enjoying a drink. The rooms are generally ample and attractive, albeit a little dated for my tastes. The staff is very courteous and highly professional. The location is the best in DC in my opinion. It's close to Georgetown, Dupont Circle, the Mall and downtown, yet tucked away in a very nice section of Foggy Bottom. The hotel restaurant, Juniper, is wonderful and never crowded. Best of all, The Fairmont is pet-friendly, so you can bring your special family member. All-in-all, a truly great hotel.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay here, and would definitely recommend it. Large, well-appointed room; elegant decor; impressive lobby; and helpful staff.
