Fodor's Review

One block from the National Air and Space Museum, this family-friendly hotel is in a great location for those bound for the Smithsonian museums, and, with Old Towne Trolley Tours stopping here, getting around town is a snap. The comfortable guest rooms have been updated, with new drapes, bedding, and granite-top vanities in the bathrooms. Kids stay free, and those under 12 eat for free at Capitol Bistro. A full-service Starbucks in the lobby fulfills many a caffeine fix,

and the outdoor terrace is a good place for a picnic. The hotel offers connecting rooms and rollaways.

Great Location. Everyone in WORLD knows it!

Great location! Beds are very comfy. Just like any nice Holiday Inn you have stayed at but only 2 blocks from washington mall or subwaY. There are not many restruants nearby. During week, rate increased 170/day to 270/day and we moved to Hotel by Foggy Bottom that was nicer(but not as convenient) for 170/rate. In house restruants are above average for holiday Inn but nothing special.

Emergency Response Center Next Door

If you get a room beside center - be prepared for loud! As in no sleep. Don't expect help from the front desk. If you book a room make sure you are on the other side of building.

Low Key, Close to Mall Locale

If you're used to better business travel hotels, this will seem a notch down, if you're used to budget motels, this will seem a notch up. Only stayed one night, but here's my 2 cents- most guests tended to be families on vacation, low key, casual hotel. Altho' non-smoking lobby, still smelled very smokey, got an odd room, literally next to the elevator on non-smoking floor, no noise issue since the ac unit was very loud and drowned out any other noise.

great locale for dc sights. parking available for extra fee ($16/day), convenient unlimited in-out. mc d's and deli down the street (east), cafe/bakery across the street (west). Would consider staying here again, if the price is right.

Close to Everything!

I stayed here while attending a class at the Government Audit Training Institute, which is located across the street. The rooms were very clean. Wish they did have an ice machine on both sides of the floor. A great deli and French bakery is located across the street in the GATI building. I go back in September for classes and will definitely stay at this hotel! It is within walking distance of so much, extremely clean, and the service is great!

Enjoy!
