Fodor's Review:
Luxury and meticulous service prevail at the stately Madison, which is why the signatures of presidents, prime ministers, sultans, and kings fill the guest register. Deceptively contemporary on the outside, the 15-story building, four blocks from the White House, is an elegant blend of Georgian, Federal, and American Empire styles. Guest rooms maintain the conservative, formal atmosphere of the hotel; get one facing M Street for the best views. The staff is eager to accommodate special requests.
